Schwäbisch Hall is a charming medieval town with a picturesque old center situated along the scenic river Kocher and in the middle of the beautiful rolling hills of Hohenlohe. Only a good hour's drive from Stuttgart or Heidelberg this vibrant little town is a well kept secret among travelers with lots to offer: from theater plays in the rebuilt of the Shakespearian Globe Theater or on the long staircase of St. Michael's Church, and the famous salt makers festival in the romantic park. The prestigious Goethe Institute chose Schwäbisch Hall as one of their top locations to study German. (For more information also see Schwäbisch Hall's official website: www.schwaebischhall.de)

If you chose to spend some time in this typical Swabian town, take your time to explore the surroundings. There are rewarding things to do for outdoor enthusiasts (biking, hiking, kiting, wellness...), museums lovers (modern and traditional arts), churches, castles, and other medieval towns galore.

Our vacation home is located in a small, quiet street named 'Postguetle' (small post office) which is within a 3 minute walk on foot to the pedestrian zone leading to the center of town. The apartment is spacious (ca 1000 sq feet / 100 sqm), light-flooded, and offers 2 bedrooms (1 master bedroom with a king-sized bed, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds), living room with satellite TV , fully equipped kitchen with pantry, bathroom with tub, separate WC, lobby. The garden with an open terrace features romantic places to relax and a small built-in barbeque furnace.

Parking spots are available in the immediate surroundings on the safe Postguetle street. Of course, free pick-up by us at the train station is also possible. Really, there is no need for a car in Schwäbisch Hall. Walking is pleasant, easy and safe. Shops, supermarkets, restaurants, etc. are all in close vicinity. Of course, we are happy to give you hints, tips, a map and guidance if you'd like.

Our Wilhelminian style house # 8 in the Postguetle features a small homeopathic practice in the basement, the vacation home on the first floor, and our appartment on the second floor and the attic. We don't mind tenants with lively children, but we do prefer smokers to enjoy smoking outside the house.

The minimum stay is one week, the maximum occupation is 4 persons. The price depends on the length of stay.
Please refer to this page for an overview chart of our prices.

We do not accept credit card or checks, unfortunately. The rental fee includes towel sets and bedding (to be replaced each week). Electricity, water. etc. is included in the bill, too. One cleaning fee upon check-out will be added to the bill. If you'd like, additional cleaning of the appartment or washing of clothes can be arranged for an extra fee. Broken or lost appliances or equipment needs to be replaced/paid for.

Reaching us is simple.
By train:
there are two train station close by: Schwäbisch Hall and Hessental. Both have frequent and regular connections to/from Stuttgart/Heidelberg and Nuernberg/Munich.

By car: Take Autobahn A6 and take the exit Schwäbisch-Hall / Kupferzell. Proceed towards Schwäbisch Hall. You will pass two small dwellings (Gelbingen and Untermünkheim) on a route that carries a little yellow 'B19' sign. Once you enter Schwäbisch Hall, you will reach a  fair sized intersection with a redlight. Take a left here towards direction ... (leaving the B19). Proceed for only 50 meters and take a very sharp left into the small and uphill street called 'Am Postgütle'. Follow the street uphill through a light right and left turn, you will see the #8 on your right after 200 meters.
